"What a show at Dublin's National Concert Hall last Saturday night - superb music by the Manchester Concert Orchestra with vocalist Graham Bickley, four terrific young dancers and of course the stars of the show - Anton and Erin.

They performed to a packed house, which included many members of ballroomdancematters.com. Such a pleasure to see them dance, (although I thought the stage was a tiny bit restrictive for their flowing style, especially during the Viennese waltz). Erin's fabulous dresses had the ladies in the audience eagerly anticipating what the next dance would bring, Anton charmed us all with his patter and even proved to be a passable singer.

The question and answer session was a scream, with Anton left speechless when one question insinuated that he might be approaching the age of 50, and roars of laughter ensued when he discovered that his endeavours to get us to vote for him on SCD were to no avail, as viewers in Ireland cannot vote. Such a shame, because he is smitten by our very own Grainne Seoige and would love her as his SCD partner!

Anton and Erin have their own internet forum, and some of its members have formed the Forum Posse, a group of young women who attend as many of their shows and workshop weekends as possible. I'm a long time member of the forum, so myself and Edward have met these young women before at Anton and Erin events, they are a great bunch. On the current tour, they have been to or will attend 21 (I think) of the shows, including last Friday night in Belfast and both shows in Dublin on Saturday. They were wearing fleeces which said "Anton and Erin's Girls on Tour, Steppin' Out 2010".

After the show, Anton and Erin did a meet and greet in the foyer of the NCH, signing programmes, posing for photos and Anton was as ever very generous with his hugs and kisses. One of our friends, having realised that she forgot to get her programme signed, was heard to sigh - "I don't care, I have his signature on my lips!"

Do you  want to attend a Ballroom dancing event?
By the way, there will be a very nice afternoon's dancing in the Grand Hotel, Malahide, on Sunday 21st February.  Under the auspices of the Irish Ballroom and Waltzing Federation, there will be a competition with plenty of social dancing in between the competitions.  It's always a lovely social afternoon.  It starts at 2pm, entry for spectators and social dancers is only 7 euro and everyone is welcome.
