On the 14 July 2008 Alan from Dublin wrote to the site. He was surprised that nearly 8 years after the E S O P had been agreed that the workforce in An Post had not received 1single share.

Today is the 14 July 2010 exactly 2 years on and the bad news Alan if your still with us is that the shares we are owed are still being withheld. Not only that Alan the 8th anniversary  of the slashing of the medical refund scheme is in early August.

Alan wanted to know what the C W U are doing about the E S O P.  I think 2 years on Alan has got his answer. The Tour De France as cycling enthusiasts know is on at the moment and a thought struck me as I read Alan’s piece from 2 years ago maybe like the 2 boys who had all the time in the world to wait for the famous Godot,  that our reps have taken the same stance.

Their attitude seems to be we will get it sooner or later. If their past achievements are anything to go by later seems to be the answer. But we live in hope and do our best to be optimistic Alan. But don’t hold your breath.

the 14 july 1789 was the day the french peasants stormed the bastille. What are the chances of our union reps storming theGPO for our esop and medical refund entitlements?

The Humble Postie.
