An Post core values

Has An Post lost its core values ? A very good question and a very simple answer, YES.

I really feel that the postal operatives that are out and about on a daily basis are at breaking point. Phone calls while out on delivery from the DSM? telling you to  go back to the office because you forgot a letter is now a daily occurance. The constant bullying and harressment is a daily occurance.

The killing of christmas mail on a daily basis is an absolute ridiculous thing. Things are going to get worse. In a time when An Post should be trying to sustain its business and generate new business our DSM? saw fit to notify all the schools that our office delivers to, that  when they close for holidays that we wont be holding mail unless it is an official retention.

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. When the market opens up in the next couple of years we will be left trailing in the wake of new competitors. All because of the lack of common sense and cop on from our DSM.

Every year a local credit union would have its mail for it's financial report delivered by An Post. The credit union only opens 3 days a week so on the days it was closed, the postal operative would hold the mail for a day and then deliver the next day in agreement with the credit union management.

The credit union were happy, the postal operative was happy, but when our DSM found out, he was far from happy. He told the postal worker to deliver the mail on a daily basis. He rang the credit union and informed them that if they did'nt get a mailbox, their mail would be killed off.

Revenge is sweet. This year An Post did'nt deliver the credit union's mail. It was delivered by hand by credit union staff. Our DSM has possibly cost the company thousands of euro because of his lack of common sense. Bet he still gets his bonus.

Pissed off.
