C+D and Duties competition, too much confusion

The differences between union members on facets of the implementation or non implementation of the C /D are interesting for a number of reasons. Surely such a major change to the conditions of all employees governed by C/D should be watertight and not open to speculation as to what should be or not be.

Why do we have any problems in relation to what the agreement says? The union, and a post and the labour court and labour relations took a number of years to come up with the document that we voted on. So for any of these groups to have any doubts about what was or what was not meant by the agreement certainly to my mind smacks of gross incompetence on the part of all three.

What we are arguing about now is not what the agreement says but more what it means. It doesn’t say much for the negotiators from all sides to that we all seem to be in the dark as to the terminology in the agreement.

As a postal operative for many years what I fail to understand is that after years of toeing and froing the three different bodies seem to have diverse view as to what is meant. No wonder the bhoy and the other postal operative are confused because it seems that those on all sides who gave us C/D also are in the dark as to what was agreed
